Next CPI Steering Committee Meeting Our next steering committee meeting is postponed -- check soon for a new date! Recent CPI Documents A CPI subcommittee have been developing a Community Vision statement based on material from the BRA's Neighborhood Planning Initiative, which reflects myriad neighborhood concerns. We hope this evolving document helps generate many conversations about what we want as a neighborhood. Upcoming Community Meetings
What is ABCPI? The Allston Brighton community is facing a unique convergence of development pressures and opportunities that require an active and engaged community to respond in a visionary and constructive way. The neighborhood is at a crossroads and there is a strong sense among some community residents that some possible futures would leave the neighborhood a hollow husk with a continuing major loss of families and economic and ethnic diversity. It is our belief that this is not in the long-term interests of the larger Boston community or the large institutions that are our neighbors. Allston Brighton residents need to "connect the dots" and understand what the whole neighborhood faces. ABCPI seeks to help the community respond with a more unified voice so the neighborhood's views are heard clearly by the universities, hospitals, private developers and by the City of Boston. ABCPI is a coalition that includes civic and community organizations and individual residents. The steering committee for ABCPI includes representatives from community organizations and interested indiviuals and meets regularly.
